Tim Atkinson is
Executive Director of Imago Relationships International, a non-profit which
helps couples, families and individuals re-create genuine connection with each
other, based on the teachings of Harville Hendrix, PhD. Tim graduated as a
Chemical Engineer from Cambridge University, United Kingdom, and subsequently
worked for many years in technical, management and marketing positions with a
global corporation. While working on assignment in the USA, Tim took the
opportunity to follow a more creative path, initially studying photography in
New York City, with a strong emphasis on documenting people with disabilities.
Through this work he deepened his involvement with the United Way, eventually
joining as Chief Development Officer. He subsequently joined Routolo
Associates, a leading fund-raising consulting firm, and consequently has been
able to bring a diverse set of skills to the management of Imago.
While at Imago, Tim has been instrumental in consolidating the organization as
the largest worldwide community of couple's therapists, with over 1,000 members
in 25 countries. He is now leading their expansion into social action, and to
explore the application of their experience resolving conflict in couples to
many other fields of relationship.
